Declaration Of Consent To The Use Of Your Personal Information
The Association of African Business Schools (“AABS”) is a “Responsible Party” pursuant to the Protection of Personal Information Act No.4 of 2013 (“POPI Act”). As such, we would like to obtain consent for Processing your Personal Information before you submit it to us.
“Process” means anything that can be done with Personal Information, including its collection, receipt, recording, organisation, collation, storage, updating, modification, retrieval, alteration, consultation, dissemination, merging, linking, restriction, degradation, erasure, destruction, or usage in any other manner whatsoever.
“Personal Information” means inter alia the types of information as listed in the POPI Act, relating to an identifiable, living, natural person, and where it is applicable, an identifiable, existing juristic person.
All other Capitalised terms used in this Declaration shall have the meanings ascribed to it in the POPI Act.

AABS will process your Personal Information exclusively when you subscribe to our newsletter or register for our events. By submitting your Personal Information, you consent to its use by the relevant AABS department to arrange your travel or share the latest news. You can withdraw your registration or subscription and have the right to access and request the deletion of your Personal Information at any time (via email to communication@aabschools.com).

Storage duration and deletion of Personal Information
The Personal Information you provide will be stored as long as you are willing to attend AABS Events. After every AABS event, AABS will delete all Personal Information apart from your surname, first name, and email address. This Personal Information will continue to be stored to manage communication with you. Please note that you can choose to opt-out at any given moment. AABS will take reasonable precautions to protect your Personal Information against loss, misuse or alteration. Among other measures, AABS ensures the security of Personal Information by means of encryption, password protection, and by otherwise restricting access to it.
